In our new video we take a closer look at how to create those rich, spacious delay sounds inside the Line 6 Helix—tones usually associated with pedals like the Strymon Timeline, Volante or Eventide. As Rafał, our sound designer, says: “After months spent in the basement twisting knobs and experimenting, I finally stumbled on a special recipe for those high end delay vibes, Strymon Timeline, Volante, Eventide, all inside the Line 6 Helix!?”

The video walks through the full patch, showing how to build a clean base tone, add subtle movement, and then use parallel routing with delay and reverb to open up the stereo space. You’ll also see how extra modulation and EQ shape the final result, and how snapshots can quickly transform one patch into multiple different sounds.

What makes this walkthrough interesting is not just the end result, but the way the signal chain is put together. Instead of relying on a single delay block, the patch layers different effects—chorus, multiple reverbs, and even secondary echoes—to keep the sound evolving. It’s a practical look at how Helix routing can be used creatively, and a good example of how a preset can feel like a whole collection of sounds rather than just one.
