Arturia has released AstroLab 2.0 firmware, a major free update for AstroLab 37, 61 and 88, adding direct sound editing from the hardware, more than 60 new sounds and several workflow and performance improvements.

AstroLab 2.0 is here: a major free update for Arturia's stage keyboard.

The biggest change in AstroLab 2.0 is the new Sound Edit view, which gives users access to more of each instrument's actual synthesis parameters directly from the keyboard. Parameters such as envelopes, filter settings and glide are now organized into dedicated pages and mapped to AstroLab's four macro knobs.

Two round AstroLab screens. One shows the "Sound Edit" menu and the other shows a "Filter Env." page with Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release sliders.
The new Sound Edit view groups envelopes, filter, glide and more into pages, each one mapped to the four macro knobs.

This means AstroLab can now be used for more detailed sound shaping without immediately returning to software. Each supported instrument gets its own parameter pages, allowing users to make both quick adjustments and more substantial edits directly from the front panel.

More than 60 new sounds

The update also expands AstroLab's factory sound library with 60+ new sounds focused largely on instruments suited to live performance.

One of the main additions is Pure Grand Clean, a new acoustic grand piano sampled across eight velocity layers. The update also introduces new funk and orchestral brass sounds, pop strings, upright bass and electric bass presets.

Together, these additions broaden AstroLab's acoustic and performance-oriented palette beyond its existing synth and keyboard sounds.

Performance and workflow improvements

AstroLab 2.0 also includes several smaller changes aimed at improving everyday use on stage.

Sampler polyphony has been improved, while Arturia has also made changes to Analog Lab linking and the update process. Transposition is now displayed using the Octave LEDs, aftertouch response has been refined, and the preset list has been reworked to make commonly used sounds easier to access.

Arturia describes the update as a combination of deeper hardware editing and a broader collection of stage-ready sounds, rather than simply an expansion of the preset library.

Firmware 2.0 availability

AstroLab 2.0 is available now as a free update for AstroLab 37, AstroLab 61 and AstroLab 88. Arturia released the update on October 6, 2026.
