14 New Agoura Amp Channels

One of the biggest additions in Helix Stadium 1.4 is the expansion of the Agoura amplifier library. Line 6 has added 14 channels across three new models, bringing the total number of Agoura channels to 67. Combined with 111 HX amp channels, the platform now offers 178 amplifier channels.

Brit SL100 – Four Eras of Marshall Plexi

The new Brit SL100 recreates different generations of the Marshall Plexi Superlead, covering four specific years: 1967, 1968, 1970 and 1971.

Each era provides three channel configurations: Normal, Bright and Jumped, resulting in 12 amplifier channels within a single model.

The different eras reflect changes to the original amplifier's circuitry, including gain structure, frequency response and power amp behavior. A dedicated BrightCap parameter also allows users to adjust the influence of the bright capacitor on the amplifier's tone.

Omega Granophyre

Based on the Omega Ampworks Granophyre 6L6, this model expands the available high-gain options in Helix Stadium.

It includes Low and High input settings, adjustable midrange voicing, Depth and negative feedback controls, and detailed power amp parameters. These provide flexibility when shaping modern high-gain sounds.

Prosecutor is the first original Line 6 amplifier developed using Agoura technology.

It builds on the concept of the popular Litigator amplifier from the HX platform, replacing its tube-modeling components with Agoura-based processing.

Rather than simply recreating the existing Litigator model, Line 6 has redesigned and refined its response using the newer modeling architecture.

Six New Guitar Effects

Helix Stadium 1.4 also introduces six effects covering distortion, boost and modulation.

Mercator is an original distortion inspired by Ben Adrian's Cartographer preamp circuit. It features three tube gain stages, two Drive controls, active three-band EQ and two Bright switches, with reduced DSP usage compared to the original preamp model.

Rock Box Dist and Rock Box Boost recreate the distortion and boost sections of the Z.Vex Box of Rock as separate effects. Users can assign them independently to different footswitches.

PortaBox 424, based on the JHS 424 Gain Stage, draws inspiration from the preamp circuitry of the Tascam Portastudio 424 four-track recorder. It provides two gain controls and bass and treble adjustment.

Essex Vibe is based on the vibrato circuit of a Vox AC30 with Top Boost Vibrato. It includes adjustable vibrato and tremolo depth, rate and stereo spread.

Dimension W recreates the BOSS DC-2W Waza Craft concept, including modes inspired by the original Dimension C pedal and Dimension D rack processor. It offers multiple modulation combinations for stereo widening and chorus-style sounds.

USB Editing Comes to Helix Stadium

Until now, the Helix Stadium app primarily relied on Wi-Fi communication with the hardware. Version 1.4 introduces the ability to connect the app directly to Helix Stadium using a USB cable.

When a USB connection is available, the application selects it by default. Users can also manually change the connection method from the device selection menu. This provides an additional option for editing presets and managing the device without relying on a wireless connection.

Stem Separation in Showcase

Another significant addition is integrated stem separation within the Showcase engine.

Users can now import a single audio file and separate it into up to five stereo stems using Yamaha's Music Connect service.

The supported stem categories are:

  • Drums

  • Bass

  • Guitar

  • Vocals

  • Other instruments and sounds

The separation process is cloud-based. Once completed, the individual stems are transferred into a new Showcase song, where they can be managed separately. Line 6 currently provides access to this separation service at no additional cost. Users can also continue importing stems created with external applications, with support for up to eight stereo WAV tracks per Showcase song.

New Showcase Skip Marker

The updated Showcase engine includes a Skip Marker feature, allowing selected song sections to be skipped automatically during playback.

By placing markers and enabling the Skip Marker parameter, users can define which sections of a backing track or song arrangement should be bypassed.

This is especially useful for live performances involving shortened arrangements, alternate song structures or sections that do not need to be played.

Expanded MIDI Control and Workflow Improvements

Helix Stadium 1.4 introduces several improvements designed to make preset management and live performance workflows more flexible.

Matrix Mixer MIDI Control: The 1/4-inch, XLR and headphone mixer layers can now be controlled through MIDI CC messages. External controllers can adjust channel levels, panning, mute and solo states, allowing musicians to manage their own monitoring mixes.

Mono/Stereo Effect Switching: Users can switch between mono and stereo versions of compatible effects while retaining parameter settings. However, snapshot and controller assignments are cleared during the conversion.

Proxy Clone Organization: Proxy clones can now be organized into nested folders, making larger clone libraries easier to manage.

Expression Pedal Settings: Each expression pedal can now be configured independently to use either global or per-preset position behavior.

Improved DSP Management, Sound and Stability

Alongside the new features, Line 6 has made several technical improvements.

The system now handles reported DSP usage more efficiently, potentially allowing more simultaneous effects and amplifier blocks in certain presets.

The interaction between speaker cabinets and Agoura power amps has also been refined for greater accuracy, particularly with high-gain 6L6-based models using higher Presence settings.

Additional improvements include shorter audible gaps when switching presets, more reliable Wi-Fi communication, better Cab IR file handling and numerous fixes affecting snapshots, MIDI, Showcase, Proxy clones and the Helix Stadium app.

The update also introduces limits of 2,048 Proxy clones and 2,048 Cab IR files to help prevent performance issues with exceptionally large libraries.

How to Update Helix Stadium

Line 6 recommends updating Helix Stadium Floor and XL directly via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Connect your device to the internet, sign in to your Line 6 account, then open Main Menu > Downloads and follow the on-screen instructions to install firmware 1.4. Alternatively, you can update your device using the Helix Stadium desktop application via USB-C.

Important: Make sure to install the latest version of the Helix Stadium application, as required by Line 6 for hardware users.

The software and firmware are available through the official Line 6 download and update channels.

Helix Stadium Continues to Expand

Helix Stadium 1.4 expands the platform's amplifier and effect selection while introducing practical improvements to editing, playback and live performance control.

The new Agoura models broaden the available guitar tones, while features such as USB editing, stem separation and MIDI-controlled monitoring provide additional options for integrating Helix Stadium into studio and stage setups.

With improvements to DSP management, preset switching and system stability, The Eras Update represents another substantial step in the ongoing development of the Helix Stadium platform.

And there's more on the way. Line 6 has already teased Helix Stadium 1.5, confirming that the next update is just around the corner. The company also hinted that it might bring something unexpected, although no specific features have been revealed yet.
