Arturia MiniFreak 5.0 Adds User Samples and Custom Wavetables

MiniFreak has grown considerably since its original release, and Arturia is continuing to expand what its hybrid synth can do. The latest update focuses on giving users more control over the sounds and content they can bring into the instrument.

Arturia has rolled out version 5.0 for MiniFreak and MiniFreak V, with the update available free to existing users. The release also includes a fresh bank of 23 presets.
The biggest change comes with MiniFreak V, which can now be used to build and manage your own content library for the synth. Files can be dropped directly into the software, while a new section of the interface keeps track of the remaining storage space.
There are two types of custom content you can add. Samples can be up to six seconds long, with WAV, AIFF and FLAC supported and automatically converted to 12-bit/32kHz. Mono wavetables can also be loaded into the synth and need to use a 24-bit, 512-point format. This includes compatible wavetables from libraries such as Arturia Pigments.
One detail remains unclear: Arturia shows the available space inside MiniFreak V, but has not stated the exact total storage capacity for user samples and wavetables.
