Arturia Pigments 6

Pigments 6 remains one of the most complete softsynths available. This thing packs six synthesis engines including the newly added Modal engine for physically-inspired sounds, wavetable, granular, sample playback, harmonic additive, and virtual analog. What makes it stand out is the workflow—color-coded interface, drag-and-drop modulation, and over 1600 presets that actually sound production-ready out of the box.
The Modal engine alone is worth the upgrade if you're coming from an earlier version. It generates everything from delicate plucked strings to richly resonant pads using collision and friction-based synthesis. Pair that with the enhanced filters—Multimode V2, Cluster, and LoFi—and you've got a synth that handles everything from pristine digital textures to gritty analog-style grime. Available at Plugin Boutique.
u-he Diva
If authentic analog emulation is what you're after, Diva still holds the crown. This synth uses Component Modeling Technology to recreate the actual circuit behavior of classic hardware, not just the output sound. The result is a plugin that captures the warmth, resonance, and subtle imperfections of vintage gear in a way that most emulations just don't.
You get five oscillator models and five filter types pulled from synth history—Moog ladder filters, Jupiter cascades, MS-20 bite, and more. The trade-off? CPU usage can get heavy at higher quality settings, but the sound is worth every cycle. Available at Plugin Boutique.

Korg Triton / Triton Extreme
The Triton defined the sound of the 2000s for good reason. This workstation powered countless hip-hop and R&B hits with its preset-focused workflow and immediately usable sounds. The plugin version faithfully reproduces the HI synthesis system and includes all eight EXB-PCM expansion cards, giving you over 4000 ready-to-go programs.
The Triton Extreme adds vacuum tube circuitry emulation via the Valve Force feature, bringing analog warmth to digital precision. The dual arpeggiator with 307 preset patterns makes it easy to sketch ideas quickly. If you're looking for that specific early-2000s vibe or just want a massive library of instantly usable sounds, this is it. Available at Plugin Boutique.
ROLI Equator2
Equator2 is built for expression. This is ROLI's MPE powerhouse, designed to take full advantage of controllers like the Seaboard but equally capable with standard MIDI keyboards. Six flexible source slots let you blend wavetable, granular, sample playback, and FM synthesis into hybrid textures that respond to every nuance of your playing.
The plugin ships with over 1400 presets—570 built specifically for MPE and 890 for standard MIDI. The modulation system is comprehensive, with editable transfer function curves for every assignment. If you're into expressive playing or sound design that evolves and breathes, Equator2 delivers. Available at Plugin Boutique.
Korg ARP Odyssey
The Odyssey has always been a bit weird—in the best way. Korg's emulation captures that uniqueness with precision, modeling all three filter revisions from the hardware's production run. Unlike most synths that organize controls by signal path, the Odyssey groups things a player might need to tweak together, which takes some getting used to but opens up fast, intuitive sound design once you adjust.
Two oscillators with hard sync, a resonant low-pass filter, and sample-and-hold modulation give it remarkable flexibility. The plugin adds polyphony (up to 16 voices), an arpeggiator, and onboard effects that the original never had. It's perfect for basslines, pads, and leads that need attitude. Available at Plugin Boutique.
D16 LuSH-2

LuSH-2 is a multilayer monster. Eight independent synthesis layers, each with its own polyphony, parameters, arpeggiator, and effects. You can assign layers to different MIDI channels for multi-timbral madness or stack them all on one channel for sounds so thick they'll fill an entire mix on their own.
The oscillators are anti-aliased and sound pristine, the filters have analog warmth, and the built-in mixer with per-layer EQ and compression means you can polish everything right inside the plugin. Over 1600 presets cover a massive range, and the modulation matrix lets you get as deep as you want. It's one of those synths that rewards both quick preset-flipping and serious sound design. Available at Plugin Boutique.
Korg multi/poly native

Inspired by the classic Mono/Poly, this plugin combines vintage analog modeling with modern digital firepower. Four oscillators per program (Classic, Digital, or Waveshaper types), dual modeled filters, and Virtual Voice Card technology that simulates the subtle variations between hardware units. The result is naturally rich timbres with organic drift and character.
The plugin supports four layers for multi-timbral operation, complete with splits and dynamic layering. Kaoss Physics lets you manipulate parameters in real time with physics-based rules, adding unpredictable movement and evolution to your sounds. If you want vintage warmth with contemporary flexibility, multi/poly native nails it. Available at Plugin Boutique.
GForce Oberheim OB-X
This is the world's first officially endorsed OB-X emulation, and GForce didn't hold back. The plugin captures the iconic sound of Tom Oberheim's 1979 polysynth—the one used by Queen, Rush, Prince, and Depeche Mode—while adding modern enhancements that make it more flexible than the hardware ever was.
16-voice polyphony, X-Modifier technology for per-parameter modulation, programmable macros, and a vintage control that dials in analog imperfections. The 2-pole filter sounds fat and musical, and the onboard effects (delay, reverb, chorus) are tasteful. Over 400 presets get you started, and the fully resizable interface makes it easy to work with. Available at Plugin Boutique.
Korg MS-20

The MS-20 is legendary for its extreme sound range and aggressive character. This plugin faithfully models the circuitry using Korg's Component Modeling Technology, capturing the self-oscillating high-pass/low-pass filters, ring modulators, and flexible patch system that made the original a studio staple since 1978.
The plugin adds modern conveniences: 32 voices of polyphony, 16-voice unison with detune, scalable high-resolution interface, and 21 effects with 127 ready-to-use programs. It's perfect for screaming leads, wobbling basses, and anything that needs bite and attitude. If you want raw analog power in software form, this is it. Available at Plugin Boutique.
Cherry Audio Rhodes Chroma
The Rhodes Chroma was groundbreaking when it launched in 1982, and this plugin brings it back with stunning accuracy. Only 3000 units were made, used by Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, and others. Cherry Audio has recreated the 16-voice architecture, modular signal paths, and extensive modulation capabilities while adding a drastically improved interface that makes programming actually enjoyable.
The plugin includes the Chroma Expander, effectively doubling the instrument's power for layers and splits. 700 presets (250 original factory patches plus 450 new ones), seven studio-quality effects, and SysEx import for owners of the original hardware. If you're after complex, evolving textures and modular-style sound design in a polished package, this delivers. Available at Plugin Boutique.
This list highlights just 10 selected synth plugins, but it represents only a small slice of what’s currently on offer. Plugin Boutique has more than 200 synthesizers on sale right now, so if you’re looking to expand your sonic arsenal, it’s well worth exploring the full range of deals.
