BIAS X 1.3 Adds NAM Capture Support

BIAS X 1.3 is a free update that lets existing owners load NAM captures into their guitar rigs. The new Neural Loader accepts A1 and A2 files, places them in the amp slot and adds practical tone controls. It does not create captures or let the AI tools choose them for you.

How BIAS X 1.3 loads NAM captures

BIAS X 1.3 treats each NAM capture as the amp in a normal BIAS X rig. You add Neural Loader from the gear browser, place it in the amp slot and open a local `.nam` file. After the first file loads, you can switch between the other captures stored in the same folder. The loader does not include its own capture library, so you need to supply the files.
The capture can sit between BIAS X drives, modulation effects, delays and reverbs. You can also run two captures on parallel paths or combine a NAM file with one of the 33 built-in amps.
Positive Grid demonstrates how Neural Loader brings NAM captures into a complete BIAS X signal chain.
Neural Loader gives captures familiar tone controls
Neural Loader adds Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble and Level controls around the loaded model. Its Tonestack selector changes the EQ response, while PRE and POST settings place that EQ before or after the capture. This gives you some room to fit a fixed capture into a song without replacing it. Level helps you match its volume against your other presets.
The loader also separates Amp captures from Amp + Cab files. When a capture includes its own speaker and microphone response, BIAS X disables the separate cabinet to prevent double processing. You can correct the Type setting manually when a file has missing or incorrect metadata. An amp-only capture can continue into one of BIAS X's 25 cabinet models.

The AI tools cannot choose your NAM files
BIAS X's AI tools cannot choose or load your NAM captures in version 1.3. Text-to-Tone still builds rigs from the software's own amps, cabinets and effects, while Music-to-Tone creates a preset from an uploaded track. You must add Neural Loader and select the required file yourself. Positive Grid does not list recording, training, exporting or sharing NAM captures. The update adds playback and tone shaping inside an existing rig, rather than a new capture system.
NAM A2 support has also reached the Axe-Fx III in firmware 33.01, while Fender has confirmed that NAM A2 support is coming to Tone Master Pro. That raises an obvious question for Line 6 players. When will NAM support come to its modelers, especially Helix Stadium?
Price and Availability
At the time of writing, Positive Grid sells BIAS X for $89, down from $149. A qualifying-owner upgrade costs $59, down from $99, while new users can try the complete software for 14 days. Version 1.3.0 was released on November 1, 2026, and is free for existing owners.
BIAS X runs standalone or as a 64-bit plugin on Mac and Windows. Mac users get AU, VST3 and AAX Native formats, while Windows supports VST3 and AAX Native. You can find the trial, full specifications and purchase options on the official BIAS X product page.
Try BIAS X With Your NAM Captures
The 14-day trial lets you check Neural Loader with your own A1 and A2 files before buying. You can then build complete rigs around those captures with BIAS X effects and cabinets.
