Elektron has released OS version 1.3.0 for Tonverk, introducing a set of new features and workflow improvements. The update adds wavetable synthesis through the new Wavefinder engine, alongside changes to sequencing, performance control, and pattern navigation. Key additions include Wavefinder wavetable synthesis, subtrack choking, arp parameter locks and randomization, page looping, as well as a range of smaller enhancements and fixes.

Elektron Tonverk Update 1.3.0 Wavefinder
Wavefinder introduces a completely new synthesis layer inside Tonverk, two independent wavetable oscillators that you can blend, modulate, and shape in real time.
You can choose different wavetables, scan through them using position, blend oscillators with level, tune and detune for width, and add motion via 12 wavetable animations.
On top of that, you can load your own wavetables, which opens the door to much deeper sound design. This addition expands Tonverk’s capabilities, especially when combined with its existing sample-based engines.
Subtrack Choking
Subtracks can now choke each other, meaning when one sound is triggered, it immediately cuts another. This is especially useful for tight hi-hats, clean rhythmic interplay, and more controlled drum programming.
It brings Tonverk closer to classic drum machine behavior where groove and articulation really matter.
Arp Parameter Locks & Randomization
You can now parameter lock arp settings, record arp changes live into sequences, and randomize arp patterns instantly.
This expands the arpeggiator into a more flexible and experimental tool, suitable for both structured sequencing and generative workflows.

Page Looping
You can now jump directly to specific pages and loop selected pages in grid recording mode.
Just hold the page button, use arrows, and select via trigs. This improves navigation and control when working with longer patterns.
And More
OS 1.3.0 also includes a bunch of smaller, but useful additions: Prepare Mutes, Sustain and Sostenuto pedal support, Remember Subpage and Subtrack, plus various improvements and bug fixes.
So while Wavefinder is the headline feature, there’s a lot happening under the hood.

Important Note
To use Wavefinder, you’ll need to load wavetables onto your SD card.
Elektron includes a pack of 75 wavetables created by their team and collaborators, so you can get started right away.

Early Community Reactions
Initial reactions to the 1.3.0 update on YouTube are largely positive, with many users highlighting the addition of wavetable synthesis as a major step forward.
A significant portion of comments focus on the overall direction of the device, with users describing Tonverk as "getting better and better" and "the gift that keeps giving." The introduction of Wavefinder is frequently mentioned as a key upgrade that expands the instrument beyond its original scope.
There is also strong appreciation for Elektron’s update cycle. Multiple users point out the frequency and consistency of firmware updates, suggesting increased confidence in long-term development.
At the same time, not all feedback is fully positive. Some users note that wavetable sounds can feel "harsh" or "thin," depending on taste and implementation. Others highlight areas still missing from the workflow, such as improved sample handling or kit organization.
Overall, early sentiment suggests that the update is well received, particularly for its sound design potential, while still leaving room for further refinement.
