Waldorf Music Introduces Microwave 1 Plugin Version 2

Waldorf Music announces the release of Microwave 1 Plugin Version 2, a major upgrade to the software version of the legendary Waldorf Microwave 1, the company’s first synthesizer and one of the most distinctive instruments in the history of wavetable synthesis. Version 2 expands the plugin with new sound design, performance and processing features, bringing greater flexibility to a classic instrument while preserving its original character.
Microwave 1 Plugin Version 2 introduces additional voice cards, increasing the original polyphony from 8 to 32 voices while retaining the micro-timing behaviour and subtle variations associated with the original instrument. The new version also adds expanded Multi modes, including Round Robin and Random Robin, a polyphonic arpeggiator for each instrument part, and a global arpeggiator with round-robin functionality. A new creative delay effect further extends the sound-shaping possibilities, offering filter, tremolo, diffusion and pitch-shifting options.
Alongside the release of Version 2, Waldorf Music is also making update 1.3.0 available free of charge to all Microwave 1 Plugin users. This update focuses on workflow and usability improvements, including a completely redesigned preset browser with favourites, search and direct instrument-part loading. It also adds multi-level Undo and Redo for parameter editing, simultaneous editing of multiple instrument parts, and a new selection of presets created by renowned mixer, engineer and producer Chuck Zwicky.

Microwave 1 Plugin Version 2 is available at an introductory price of 99 EUR including VAT until 5 July 2026. After this period, the price will rise to 149 EUR including VAT.
Existing owners of the Microwave 1 Plugin can upgrade to Version 2 at an introductory price of 29 EUR including VAT until 5 July 2026. After the introductory period, the upgrade price will rise to 49 EUR including VAT.
