The Fender Tone Master Pro NAM A2 update is coming, but it is not available yet. Fender says the Tone Master Pro will load A2 captures as signal-chain blocks controlled from its touchscreen and companion app. There is no release date, firmware number or confirmed import process yet.

How will Fender Tone Master Pro NAM A2 support work?

The Tone Master Pro will treat NAM A2 captures much like amp blocks in a normal preset. According to reports of a post in Fender’s official users forum, Max Gutnik said captures will work through both the hardware touchscreen and the Pro Control app, with an individual graphic available for each one. Fender is still testing the feature and has not confirmed its DSP use, block limit or support for older A1 files. This could make the unit more flexible beside the options covered in our current modeler comparison.

What is different about NAM A2?

NAM A2 is the new open-source modeling design released by Neural Amp Modeler creator Steve Atkinson on June 2, 2026. TONE3000 describes A2-Full as its highest-accuracy version and A2-Lite as a smaller option made for embedded hardware, but Fender has not said which version it will use. The company has announced capture playback and loading, not an on-device process for making captures. For more context on this part of the market, see our coverage of parametric tone models and compact capture modelers.

What can the hardware do today?

The Tone Master Pro currently runs Fender’s own models and third-party impulse responses, with no NAM support in its shipping firmware. The floor unit has a seven-inch touchscreen, more than 100 amp and effect models, four effects loops and over 500 user-preset locations. Its current firmware is v1.8.58, released on July 15, 2026 as a hotfix after the larger v1.8.45 release on June 3. The existing feature set still makes it a complete floor processor rather than a dedicated capture player, much like the units discussed in our compact floor-modeler overview.

Price and Availability

NAM A2 support has no confirmed release date, public beta or firmware number. Fender also has not said whether the update will be free, how captures will be imported or whether the hardware will run A2-Full, A2-Lite or both. Fender currently lists the hardware at $1,499.99 in the US, while regional prices and stock may differ. Fender’s official product page has the current specifications, but buyers should treat NAM A2 as a future feature until it appears in the release notes.

NAM A2 is still being developed, but the hardware already offers a large model library, flexible routing and deep touchscreen control. Check Thomann for the current regional price and availability.
