It's almost time. Superbooth 26 returns to FEZ Berlin on May 7 to 9, 2026, marking the tenth anniversary of Superbooth as an independent festival and trade fair for electronic musical instruments. A decade in, the event has firmly established itself as the most important meeting point for the synth community worldwide.

For those unfamiliar, Superbooth is a unique blend of trade fair, festival, and community gathering, set in the wooded grounds of FEZ Berlin. Since 2017, the three day event has hosted many of the biggest names in music technology alongside smaller, newer, and often highly innovative outfits. In recent years it has become the place where new gear gets unveiled, arguably surpassing NAMM as the de facto launch event for music tech brands. The 2025 edition drew over 8,800 attendees and 301 exhibitors from 31 countries across eight exhibition areas, including 38 pro audio brands from 9 countries. Close to 300 developer brands are already registered for Superbooth 2026.

What also makes Superbooth distinct from most industry events is its independence. The fair has been fully self organised from the start, hosted without major brand deals or sponsorships, which gives smaller manufacturers genuine space to show their work next to industry giants.

We'll be attending the full three days, talking to manufacturers, capturing first impressions, and bringing back coverage of the most interesting releases. If you're going to be in Berlin and want to meet up, get in touch. We always enjoy connecting with fellow producers, designers, and gear enthusiasts!

Who's exhibiting

This year's exhibitor list is huge, with brands across hardware, software, and pro audio. Among the names to look out for:

  • Major manufacturers: Arturia, Korg (and Korg Berlin), Polyend, Novation, Sequential, Roland, plus Berlin based brands like Bitwig, U-He, and Native Instruments. Notably, after a long hiatus, Roland is returning to Superbooth with its own booth and Future Design Lab, this time placed in the Bungalow area alongside Doepfer and Vermona. Native Instruments is also taking part together with iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx.

  • Modular and Eurorack heavyweights: Make Noise, Buchla, Tiptop Audio, Xaoc Devices from Poland, Mordax Systems from Vancouver Washington (makers of the DATA module), LPZW.modules.

  • Boutique and experimental: Majella Audio from the Netherlands will be showing their flagship IMPLEXUS synthesizer, Melbourne Instruments brings new DAW integrations for the motorised ROTO CONTROL and NINA polysynth, Oddment debuts the ODD 1 desktop synth with an advanced granular core, and MiMU Gloves return with their wearable performance instrument.

  • Pro audio: Solid State Logic with Harrison Audio at booth 0131, showcasing the new Revival 4000 and Super 9000 analogue processors, the Harrison 500 Series Rack with Dante, and the new Slate Digital ML 1A microphone, among others. MOTU, Mackie, Yamaha, and Zoom are also confirmed.

The full exhibitor list is available on the official Superbooth website at superbooth.com.

What's being announced

The pre show news is already piling up, and there's plenty to keep an eye on:

  • Din Sync R 101, Paul Barker's Roland SH 101 clone in a 2U rackmount format, with a CEM 3340 oscillator, IR 3109 filter, the original sequencer and arpeggiator, plus added CV and MIDI inputs.

  • u-he Zebra 3, the long awaited new version of the legendary semi modular soft synth, rebuilt from the ground up with spline curve oscillators, new filter models, physical modelling tools, and a frequency shifting ring modulator.

  • Knobula Drum Farm, a 24 HP four voice Eurorack drum module with 16 synthesis models (virtual analog, physical modelling, spectral techniques), on the fly sample capture and resampling, 16 real time effects, and an external audio input. Launching June 2026.

  • Plinky 12 from Making Sound Machines, featuring a 12 inch 16×16 touch grid with three swappable panels (Toadstep, Chords, Blocks), an RP2350 microcontroller, a sample to wavetable engine, filters, ADSR, reverb, delay, plus audio, MIDI, and CV I/O.

  • WMD Cosmic Debris, a delay and reverb module with 16 interactive delay lines and multiple operating modes, developed together with Infrasonic Audio.

  • This Is Not Rocket Science BigFish, a digital modular synth across four levels (music, sound, synth, DSP) with the unique Bink keyboard, presented as a spiritual successor to the Nord Modular. Full release is scheduled for spring 2027, with more info dropping at Superbooth 2026.

  • Haken Audio Slim 21 Continuum, a 21 semitone (nearly two octave) version of the Continuum with a neoprene playing surface and the EaganMatrix engine, the most affordable and portable Continuum to date.

  • Tubbutec Controller Designer, an online service where you design your own MIDI controller (knobs, encoders, switches and so on) and Tubbutec builds it and ships it to you.

  • Body Synths Laboratory, a two channel hardware effects unit with VCAs, PT 2399 based delay, resonant low/high pass filtering, and four feedback paths. It can also generate sound in self oscillation mode.

  • Union Audio AREA.6, a 6 channel mixer with built in tilt EQ, low/high pass filter, compressor, plus CV control over level, pan, and AUX sends. Works as desktop or Eurorack, available July 2026.

  • KOMA Elektronik Haloplane, an instrument using seven coil controlled electromagnetic fields, with two sound engines (a micro loop sampler and a wavetable synth) and a companion sound design app, built together with Passpartout Duo.

  • GS Music Bree6 Keyboard, a keyboard version of the 6 voice analog Bree6 with semi weighted keys and aftertouch, three waveforms plus sub oscillator, ladder filter, built in chorus and delay, 512 presets, and MPE support.

That's just the early wave. As always, much of the excitement at Superbooth comes from the smaller, independent developers, with first looks at products from new startups and developers, often long before they're ready for market.

Music programme

Superbooth isn't only about gear. This year's concert programme includes performances by Monolake, Polygonia, Anushka Chkheidze & Robert Lippok, Gudrun Gut, Passepartout Duo, and many more. Other highlights include a recital by Electric Indigo on May 7. Lecture concerts (Gesprächskonzerte) will be held in the cinema room (Kino), with presentations from Ferry Island, FRAKnoise, Erica Synths, Tubbutec, u-he, Ploytec, dsp-dealer, Nonlinear Labs, and Soma already confirmed.

Superbooth has a strong track record of collaborative programming around the show, including the Modular Synthesizer Ensemble (supported by the Miller Zillmer Foundation), workshops with the Studio for Electroacoustic Music of the Berlin Academy of Arts, dedicated formats for women and nonbinary people, DIY soldering, field recording and tape loop sessions, and masterclasses on the ADAM Audio "Immersive Arena" stage with Echio.co. The full SB26 workshop schedule will be published closer to the date.
