Installing .SerumPack Files
Serum 2 introduced a new preset format called .SerumPack, which makes adding new sounds faster and more organized. Here’s how to install it:
Open Serum 2 in your DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, or any other).
Click the Menu button in the top-right corner of Serum 2.
Choose Import Preset Pack… from the dropdown menu.
Find your downloaded .SerumPack file and click Open.
Serum 2 will show a confirmation message once the pack is installed.
You can now find your new sounds under the Packs tab in Serum’s preset browser.
Quick tip: You can also drag and drop a .SerumPack file directly onto Serum 2 to install it instantly.
If you don’t see the presets right away, go back to the Menu, and select Rescan Folders on Disk. This refreshes your preset library.

Installing Presets Manually
If your presets came as individual files or folders (usually with the extension .SerumPreset), here’s what to do:
Download and unzip the preset folder if it’s in a .zip or .rar file.
In Serum 2, open the Menu and select Open Serum 2 Presets Folder.
Move your downloaded presets into the Presets > User folder.
Restart Serum 2 or choose Rescan Folders on Disk to load them in.
Your new presets will appear under the User section in the browser.
Compatibility and Common Issues
Always make sure you’re using the latest version of Serum 2, as older builds might not fully support the new .SerumPack format. If your preset pack includes extra files such as wavetables or noises, copy them into the correct folders inside your Serum library to make sure everything loads properly.
On Windows, some users may see an error about missing files or limited permissions when importing packs. If that happens, run your DAW as an administrator and re-import the pack. This usually fixes the issue and allows Serum to write to its preset folders without restrictions.
